How Noctuary works

A private dream journal and light dream analysis space for linking subconscious night material with conscious waking commentary — bridges, dream symbols, motifs, and continuity over time. Not therapy.

The dual-mind entry

Every night has two required layers:

  1. The dream (subconscious) — what happened in the night, as you remember it.
  2. Waking commentary (conscious) — questions, life links, perplexity, and day-mind notes that usually fade by noon.

Most dream diaries stop at layer one. Noctuary treats the conscious side as equal evidence — the place where dream images meet waking life.

Bridges, not forced interpretations

After you save a night, analysis looks for provisional bridges: short links between a dream element and a waking note. Confidence stays tentative. Ordinary dreams stay ordinary — no parable mode, no surreal short story factory, and no named schools or therapist personas.

Think of it as a careful dream–waking reflection practice, not a clinical reading.

Learning over nights

Across analyzed entries, Noctuary builds a personal learning map of:

Newer nights can reframe older ones. Each full analysis is a snapshot; re-analyze when you want it refreshed against the current map. Prefer one-off examples? Turn on single-night / example mode so no running symbol list accumulates.

Who it is for

People who keep a dream diary, track recurring dreams, explore subconscious–conscious links, or want a quieter alternative to generic “dream interpretation” sites. Also useful if you care about dream pattern tracking and night–day continuity without turning dreams into fiction.
